What is Skyway Mechanix?
Skyway Mechanix is your weekly dose of fiction in an easy to digest blog form. If it helps you can think of it as a peek into the world of New Robbins Valley where robot girls and ninjas are every day sights.
Where does this take place?
New Robbins Valley, Minnesota, a suburb on the western side of Minneapolis. Just take interstate 394 west to Minnesota state highway 169 north. Exit on highway 55 east and stop when you get to the New Robbins Valley mall. Go into the Four Cities Diner and order the pigs in a blanket. Tell ‘em Rick sent you.
Who is Violet Capagio?
Assassin, hero, mook. Violet is the girl who, had she attended your high school, would have been voted ‘Mostly likely to kick your ass’. She likes Victory motorcycles, money, the safety of a loaded pistol at her shoulder, money, and small animals. Okay, maybe not small animals. Violet always has a plan. Her plans usually fail but she always has one.
Who is Laurel Swanson?
Laurel is a robot built by a scientist living in New Robbins Valley. She is super-strong and looks up to super heroes as role models. She can tear steel in her bare hands and kick through concrete. She like Hello Kitty, which is not unusual for a ten year old.
Opening theme – Cecelia Ann
Closing theme – Ana
The official theme song of Skyway Mechanix is Cecilia Ann by the Pixies. Listen before reading. Ana, also by the Pixies, is the closing theme.

This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, events and incidents past present or future are either the products of the author’s warped imagination or used in a fictitious manner, or to a humorous effect – sometimes both and once in a while on purpose. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental, even the ones that bare a suspiciously high correlation to reality. Yeah, those are made up, too.

I’m humming that “these are a few of my favourite things” song, you know? Hey thanks for the link. Much appreciated.
